The Home Ministry introduced new policies for Ladakh, reserving 85% of government jobs for Scheduled Tribes (STs). Citizens who've lived in Ladakh for 15 years, beginning October 31, 2019, will be considered domiciled. English, Hindi, Urdu, Bhoti, and Purgi will serve as the UT's official languages. Additionally, one-third of the seats in the hill councils will be reserved for women.
