The Central government has allotted ₹8,000 crore for Chennai Metro Phase 2. The total amount granted in 2025 is ₹8,445.80 crore, out of which ₹3,000 crore has been released. The project involves the construction of three new corridors, the Indigo Line, the Orange Line, and the Red Line, spanning 118.9 km.
