The Centre is planning to roll out 33% reservation of seats for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies in time for 2029 general polls, according to reports. The move, which is called Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, is linked to the delimitation exercise. Notably, the Women's Reservation Bill was introduced in Lok Sabha on September 19, 2023.
