The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) ordered drug controllers in all states and Union Territories to ensure strict testing of medicines. The directive comes after 20 children reportedly died in Madhya Pradesh from consuming contaminated Coldrif cough syrup. CDSCO emphasised testing of raw materials and final products, urging manufacturers to source only from reliable vendors.
