Data from Moon's south polar region sent by Chandrayaan-3 mission's Pragyan rover has led to discovery of an ancient, 160-km-wide buried crater on the Moon, as per a study by government's Physical Research Laboratory scientists. The crater is believed to have formed before creation of South Pole-Aitken basin. This makes the newly-discovered crater one of the Moon's oldest geological structures.
