Central government has approved the extension of service of General Anil Chauhan as Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) up to 30th May 2026, or until further orders, Defence Ministry said on Wednesday. General Chauhan's tenure as Secretary of Department of Military Affairs has also been extended. He has been the military chief since September 2022.
