Taiwan has accused China of misinterpreting United Nations Resolution 2758 to justify future military aggression, stressing that the resolution never mentioned Taiwan nor authorised Beijing to represent it. Taipei warned China's claim of sovereignty is a deliberate attempt to mislead and alter status quo. Taiwan insists only its democratically elected government represents its 23 million citizens.
