China's military said it warned Canadian and an Australian warship, which were sailing through Taiwan Strait, calling the move a "provocation". China said its air and naval forces followed the two ships and "effectively responded". "Actions of Canadians and Australians send wrong signals and increase security risks," China said. China views Taiwan as part of its territory which Taiwan rejects.
