China has sought India's guarantee that it won't divert heavy rare earth magnets to US and they'll only be used for local needs before resuming shipments to Indian companies, Economic Times reported. Reportedly, Indian firms already submitted certificates stating that the magnets won't be used to make weapons of mass destruction. These magnets are crucial for EVs, aerospace, defence, etc.
