China has decided to pause the planned rare earth export curbs announced earlier this month for one year. This comes after a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. On October 9, China extended its export curbs to five new elements and limited the export of dozens of equipment and materials used to mine rare earths.
