China is trying to deploy its "ancient" strategy of "elite co-option" in India by 'buying off' journalists, businesspersons, leaders and YouTubers, ex-President (Sikyong) of Tibetan Government in Exile Dr Lobsang Sangay said. "That's how they infiltrated Tibet, Xinjiang, Mongolia," he said. China has captured "ruling elites" in Pakistan, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, he added.
