Taiwan's Defence Minister, Wellington Koo, said that presence of two Chinese aircraft carriers spotted in Pacific Ocean for the first time sends a political message about China's "expansionist" nature. Japan's Defence Ministry confirmed that carriers, Liaoning and Shandong, were operating in separate areas of Pacific. Koo added that their armed forces had a "full grasp" of the carriers' movements.
