Ahead of Tamil Nadu polls, CM MK Stalin urged the Muslim community to boycott the BJP. Speaking at the 1500th birth anniversary celebration of Prophet Muhammad, he said DMK has always stood as a movement that supports and protects the rights of Muslims. Reacting to this, BJP leader Narayanan Thirupathy criticised the remark, calling the DMK and I.N.D.I.A bloc "communal".
