A study by Stockholm University revealed planet-forming disk around star 5,500 light-years away with an unexpectedly high abundance of carbon dioxide instead of water vapour. The discovery, made using James Webb Space Telescope, challenges existing theories of planet formation. Intense UV radiation from host star or neighbouring massive stars may have reshaped disk's chemistry, a researcher said.
