Women in Bihar who once cooked only for their families now earn ₹8,000–₹10,000 a month by cooking in canteens under Didi Ki Rasoi scheme, launched in 2018 by CM Nitish Kumar through JEEViKA programme. Over 4,000 "Didis" work in over 225 kitchens after receiving week-long training at IHM Hajipur. "Police officers eat my food...they call me Didi", a 'Didi' said.
