Ahead of Diwali, Supreme Court said a complete firecracker ban in Delhi-NCR is "neither practical nor ideal" as restrictions are often violated. The remarks, suggesting possible relaxation of the ban, came from a bench of CJI BR Gavai and Justice K Vinod Chandran while reserving its order on a batch of pleas seeking permission to manufacture and sell "green" firecrackers.
