Election Commission of India (ECI) dismissed fresh allegations levelled by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over Maharashtra poll and said he was doing so to pre-empt his party's defeat in upcoming polls. "After any unfavourable verdict by voters, trying to defame Election Commission...is completely absurd," the poll body added. Rahul called 2024 Maharashtra poll "a blueprint for rigging democracy."
