TMC leader Kunal Ghosh has demanded an independent, impartial investigation into the Air India plane crash tragedy. He alleged the condition of the country's planes and trains has deteriorated under the BJP government. "Air India has only recently been taken over by the Tatas. Until then, it was under the central government. Where is the maintenance, the surveillance?" Ghosh said.
