Congress must end "the era of failed Big Tech self-regulation" and pass laws that put user safety over "the whims of billionaires", Senator Ed Markey said on Saturday. Markey's remark came after Twitter's new owner Elon Musk failed to respond to his letter asking Musk questions about Twitter verification after a reporter created a "verified" account impersonating the senator.
