In Maharashtra, a disturbing video from Thakurli's Bombay Velvet cafe's shows an on-duty policeman brutally beating an elderly dog, that had taken shelter inside the cafe to escape loud Diwali firecrackers. The officer, seemingly reacting out of fear or misunderstanding, can be heard hurling abuses while striking the animal so hard that it cries out in pain.
