Scientists have uncovered a vast white coral reef over 500 metres deep in Gulf of Naples, marking a rare find in Mediterranean. Found using a remotely operated submarine, the reef is two metres wide and stretches along an 80-metre-high underwater wall. It hosts white corals, black corals, solitary corals, sponges as well as fossil traces of oysters and ancient corals.
