A Paris-to-Corsica flight circled the airport for an hour after Ajaccio’s sole air traffic controller was found asleep with runway lights off. Police intervened to wake him, allowing a safe landing. Once awakened, the controller switched on the runway lights and cleared the plane to land safely.
