The Supreme Court said courts should not act as recovery agents and criticised the practice of turning civil disputes into criminal cases. "Courts aren't recovery agents for the parties to recover outstanding amounts. This misuse of the judicial system cannot be allowed," it observed. The court also noted that the threat of arrest should not be used to recover money.
