An Italian businessman was held captive and tortured for over two weeks in a luxury townhouse in an attempt to extract his Bitcoin password, New York police said. The suspect, cryptocurrency investor John Woeltz, was arrested after the victim managed to escape and inform police. Woeltz has been charged with assault, kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment and criminal possession of gun.
