CSK categorically clarified that all actions taken by them during signing process of Dewald Brevis as replacement player during IPL 2025 were in complete compliance with rules and regulations of IPL. In April, Brevis was signed for ₹2.2 crore as a replacement for injured Gurjapneet Singh. CSK's statement comes after Ravichandran Ashwin suggested the franchise paid extra to buy Brevis.
