Demanding the Election Commission to halt electoral roll revision exercise (SIR), West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said, "You can send me to jail or cut my throat, but don’t cut the name of a single genuine voter." Calling it a "super emergency", Banerjee accused poll body of keeping election officials busy so that the government is unable to function properly.
