Cyclone Shakthi, the season's first Arabian Sea storm, has intensified into a severe cyclonic storm with winds of 100 kmph. The IMD has issued alerts for Maharashtra and Gujarat, warning of rough seas and strong winds until October 5. Mumbai will see only light to moderate rainfall. The storm will recurve on October 6 and weaken gradually by October 8.
