A woman lawyer, Anura Singh, argued for a constable who was dismissed in January 2023 by her father, Rakesh Singh, who was Bareilly Range Inspector General at the time. The constable, Taufiq Ahmad, was accused of sexually assaulting a minor. Allahabad High Court agreed with Anura's argument and quashed the dismissal while also ordering a fresh inquiry into the matter.
