Death risk among Indians rose between 2010 & 2019, says new global study

Mortality risk from chronic diseases like cancer and heart disease increased in India in the decade leading up to COVID-19 (2010-2019), a Lancet study of 185 countries said. Indian women experienced a sharper rise in likelihood of dying as compared to Indian men during the same period. Death risk fell in 152 countries for women and 147 countries for men.
