The death toll from floods in Punjab has risen to 48, PTI reported citing officials. Standing crops on over 4 lakh acres have been submerged, while more than 1,900 villages have been affected by the state’s worst floods in decades. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan assured that the state will be taken out of this trouble by the Centre.
