A Taiwanese military officer said if Russia defeats Ukraine it will signal that China can be more aggressive towards Taiwan. "We wish for their (Ukraine's) victory," he said. China views Taiwan as its own territory and for the past five years Taiwan has complained of increased Chinese military pressure. Taiwan has also joined Western sanctions against Russia.
