Defence Minister Rajnath Singh approved a 100% hike in financial assistance for ex-servicemen and their dependents under Kendriya Sainik Board schemes. The penury grant has been doubled to ₹8,000 per month, while education and marriage grants have also been raised. Effective from November 1, this decision will cost ₹257 crore annually, reinforcing welfare for veterans.
