In a move to boost India's aero engine capabilities, the Ministry of Defence has officially confirmed a ₹723 crore allocation for the development and flight testing of the Kaveri derivative "dry" engine. This engine, originally designed for the Tejas, has now been repurposed for India’s upcoming stealth IUCAV program, with a thrust rating of nearly 48.5 kN and no afterburner.
