A 45-year-old man from Garhi Mendu, Northeast Delhi, drowned in the Yamuna while trying to save his cow from rising floodwaters. Ombir had already moved his family to safety. After dropping his family and household items, he went back for the cow. While walking, his foot slipped and he was washed away. After two days of searching, his body was recovered near the village.
