The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has revised the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), making school closures mandatory under Stages 3 and 4. Previously, state governments decided on implementing these measures. Under the new guidelines, schools in NCR districts like Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, and Gautam Buddha Nagar will also be shut during hazardous air quality levels.
