Growth in new demat account openings continued to decline in March 2025, marking the slowest pace of additions in 23 months, Moneycontrol reported. Around 20.4 lakh new accounts were opened in March, the lowest growth since April 2023, while 30.3 lakh accounts were opened in February. Experts attribute this slowdown to prevailing weak investor sentiment and an uninspiring IPO market.
