Tamil Nadu has witnessed a 79 percent increase in the year-on-year surge in dengue cases, rising from 4,778 in the first half of 2024 to 8,558 cases in the same period this year. However, with over 3,000 cases reported in the state between April and June 2025, only two deaths were officially recorded during this period.
