The Chhattisgarh High Court ruled that mere quarrels and derogatory remarks by a husband or in-laws don't constitute abetment of suicide unless there's extraordinary provocation or sustained cruelty. The ruling came as the court acquitted a man and his father in a suicide case. The two were convicted by a Raipur court for abetting the suicide of the man's wife.
