A sacred coconut worshipped through the Shravana month at a Karnataka temple was auctioned for over ₹5 lakh. The coconut was placed on the altar of Lord Malingaraya and offered daily prayers for an entire month, CNBC TV18 reported. Each year, the ritual culminates in public auction, with the highest bidder taking home what's considered a symbol of divine blessings.
