Every Navratri, thousands walk 100 km and some cycle 1,000 km from Mumbai to reach Maa Ashapura’s temple in Matanamadh, Kutch, Gujarat. The idol wasn’t crafted but self-manifested. Legend says a saint opened the shrine too early, revealing only part of the goddess. Devotees continue to worship her in this partial yet powerful form today.
