Dhanush's 'Idly Kadai' crossed the ₹10 crore mark on its opening day, grossing ₹10.4 crore across India. Tamil Nadu alone contributed ₹9.75 crore, while Telugu earned ₹65 lakh. The film received positive reviews but couldn't surpass Madharasi, which collected ₹12.8 crore on day one in Tamil Nadu. The movie also features Nithya Menen, Arun Vijay and Shalini Pandey.
