Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh spoke about having to choose between 'Johnny Gaddaar' and 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' as debut film. However, he recalled, "There were questions like, he's...a singer's son, so would [he] be able to act? To put an end to this question, I wanted a role that would shut people up and establish me as an actor."
