Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, when asked why the BJP changed its stance against the NCP and allied with them in 2019, said they never wanted it but had to compromise to stay politically relevant, as the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena had backstabbed them for the CM's seat. "We formed a coalition, but didn't leave our (BJP's) ideology behind," Fadnavis said.
