Diljit Dosanjh's stylist revealed that they attempted to get Maharaja of Patiala's original 1000-carat Cartier necklace, worth ₹10 crore at the time ($2.5 billion or ₹21,000 crore today), for his Met Gala look. However, the request was denied as the necklace "sits sealed in a museum". Eventually, Indian jeweller Golecha was commissioned to create pieces inspired by the Maharaja's collection.
