Uttarakhand government has mandated food vendors on the Kanwar Yatra route to prominently display their license/registration certificates. Those who failed to comply would face closure and may also be fined up to ₹2 lakh. The government said that the move aims to ensure that lakhs of devotees receive clean and safe food during Yatra, which will begin on July 11.
