Supreme Court Judge Surya Kant declined a plea for same-day hearing on a house auction case, citing heavy workload of judges. "Do you know how many hours we're sleeping?" he said. He added, "Unless someone is about to be hanged...I'll never list a mentioned case on same day." Justice Kant is set to become Chief Justice of India in November.
