A doctor based in Gujarat's Gandhinagar lost her entire life savings of ₹19 crore in a digital arrest scam. Fraudsters posing as a sub-inspector and a public prosecutor told her she had objectionable content on her phone. They blackmailed her and instilled fear of action in her, after which she transferred her assets over three months to 35 bank accounts.
