A doctor reportedly refused to treat a pregnant woman for being Muslim in Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur. The woman's family alleged that the doctor told them, "Don't bring her to the OT (operation theatre)…she is Muslim…I won't treat her…take her elsewhere." An official at the hospital said, "A doctor can’t refuse to treat a patient irrespective of his or her religion."
