Doctors at Villupuram district hospital in Tamil Nadu mistakenly performed surgery on the healthy left knee of N Marimuthu, a bus conductor, who was admitted for ligament damage in his right knee. The error came to light when his wife noticed the bandages on the wrong leg in the post-operative ward. A case has been registered against the hospital.
