Doctors at Army Hospital (R&R) have successfully performed an auditory brainstem implant, a rare, life‑changing procedure, on the 1.8‑year‑old daughter of a serving soldier who has microcephaly, ANI reported citing Indian Army officials. The surgery restores hearing in patients with non‑functional auditory nerves. Padma Shri awardee Professor Mohan Kameswaran was also part of the procedure.
